LGV C1 Licence Overview and Step 1 Requirements
Personnel wishing to complete and gain the LGV C1 Licence must first of all hold a full UK B CAT licence for a manual car and be a minimum age of 18 years. For personnel who completed their car test prior to January 1997 will automatically gain the grandfather rights to drive this type of vehicle (please check your licence).
In order to gain the LGV C1 Licence personnel must first of all complete the required medical which can be completed by a local GP. The associated cost do vary, and they will need to complete the D4 Medical Form which can be obtained from the GOV.UK website. Once this has been completed, you can then apply for your provisional LGV C1 licence by completing the D2 Application Form and sending this with the completed D4 Medical Form for authorisation and issue. Please note that personnel are not permitted to drive until the provisional licence has been issued and received.
